Debbie DuBose
With more than 39 years of experience in community engagement, public relations, and public speaking in the Upstate of South Carolina, Debbie DuBose gained her background in campaign and annual fundraising. Her most recent achievement is opening her consulting business, which offers expertise in event planning, marketing and fundraising management for numerous nonprofits in the Upstate.
Before she opened her consulting business, Debbie was responsible for all private fundraising efforts for Oconee Medical Center and its community healthcare system, where she helped the OMC Foundation raise more than $15 million in gifts and pledges. In addition to her work with the OMC Foundation, Debbie served as the Executive Director of the Clemson Alumni Association for 15 years, as the Associate Vice President for Development for five of those years, and as the Interim Vice President of Advancement for one year. During her time on the Clemson Alumni Association, she was responsible for all alumni programming, visitor services, alumni annual giving and historic properties. Prior to her position at Clemson, Debbie worked for Duke Energy for 13 years at the Oconee Nuclear Site. She worked in Corporate Communications, Community Relations, Media Relations and Administrative Management.
Over the years, she held many more involvements in the Upstate, including former member of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and the South Carolina Hospital Association’s Fund Development Committee. She was a past Alumnae Advisor for Delta Delta Delta Chapter at Clemson University, as well as a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Seneca Rotary Club. She was a former board member of the Children’s Trust of South Carolina, a Sunday School Teacher, and a past chairman of Council of Stewards at Saint Mark United Methodist Church. She served as a member of the Tiger Brotherhood and Blue Key, a past president of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce, past Industrial Division Chairman and General Campaign Manager of Oconee county United Way. She was a previous member and chair of the South Carolina Alumni Association Directors, a previous member of the Council of Alumni Association Executives, and a past commissioner on the Pendleton Historic and Recreation Commission. For her service to South Carolina, she received the Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award.
Debbie is a graduate of Clemson University, where she earned her BA in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. She lives in Seneca, SC with her husband, Bob DuBose. They have two daughters, Anna and Brock.
