Upstate Warrior Solution and American Legion Post 214 were proud to partner in June to hold a parade, honoring Senior Airman Jonny Hill who turned 97. The parade was held in Taylors, SC.

UWS Greenville Warrior Advocate Janice Oliver said, “We got a call from his granddaughter, Trixie. [She said] he was celebrating his 97th birthday, and they wanted a veteran organization to present him with a plaque.”

Janice and UWS Fellowship Program Participant Shannon Sports went to present him with a plaque. They said Jonny was really surprised to see a parade in his honor.

Janice really enjoyed connecting with a World War II veteran. She said it was a blessing to talk to someone who was in World War II, and it meant a lot to her.
