Warrior Wednesday: John Cantalupo
Today’s #WarriorWednesday is John Cantalupo! John was U.S. Active Duty U.S. Air Force from 2012-2016 and Texas Air National Guard until 2018. He deployed to Kuwait in 2015 and Liberia in 2014 to provide security and humanitarian relief during the Ebola crisis. Currently, he serving as the 2020-2021 Greenville County Behavioral Health AmeriCorps VISTA Leader at Mental Health America of Greenville County. He is working toward completing this year of service then finishing his undergraduate degree in international relations in the fall then apply to be a foreign service officer for the State Department.
“The thing that I enjoyed most from my time in the Air Force was the way in which it set me up to succeed in other areas of my life,” said John, reflecting on his Air Force career. “The Air Force was able to magnify my strengths through professional development, mentoring, and an emphasis on higher education. When I had finished my enlistment and returned to civilian life, I felt as though the Air Force had prepared me to succeed at anything.”
