Warrior Outreach and Case Coordination program: five areas of assistance
Health care and Benefits Coordination
Our team of warrior advocates serve as a liaison between the DOD, VA, local health care resources, and our warrior community. In addition to benefits coordination, our team connects warriors with local partners for health care and non-medical treatment options. For example, our partnership with PRISMA Health streamlines health care for veterans being treated at local emergency rooms.
Education and Employment Support
Our team helps warriors meet their goals by providing educational planning and guidance, serving as a liaison between institutions of higher learning, and the VA.
We also help build relationships with local employers, creating hiring channels. We partner with local organizations to connect warriors to professional development opportunities and to match them with employers by translating and aligning experience to the employer’s requirements.
Our team supports warriors in need of housing assistance. In addition to serving as a liaison to a VA, we provide financial and budget counseling services. We also connect warriors to our local community partners who specialize in housing and homeless resources.
Quality of Life Support
Our team assists warriors in several areas to improve their quality of life. Ongoing events focus on bringing warriors together for activities that build community with like-minded individuals. Our regular activities include physical fitness, recreation, outdoor adventures, and social events. Past participates have benefited from networking, fellowship, and improved overall health and well-being.
Because we recognize the veteran is not the only family member impacted by time spent in service, we assist warriors’ families through our family support program. We offer events and activities to help participants connect with other veteran spouses and families. Regular group meetings include Higher Ground Hikers, Crafts for Freedom, and Operation Support Our Warrior Spouses.
