Dr. Ronnie L. Booth is a respected higher education leader and community advocate whose career spans more than 35 years in education, workforce development, and public service. Throughout his career, he has been committed to expanding educational access, strengthening regional economies, and creating opportunities that improve lives across South Carolina and beyond.
Dr. Booth served as President of Tri-County Technical College from 2003 to 2019, leading the institution through a period of transformational growth. Under his leadership, the college opened four branch campuses, co-founded the nationally recognized Bridge to Clemson Program with Clemson University, and launched the Connect to College initiative, expanding educational pathways for adult learners and high school dropouts throughout the Upstate.
Before Tri-County, Dr. Booth held executive leadership positions at Gainesville State College, Piedmont College, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Aiken Technical College, Clemson University, Columbia International University, and the University of South Carolina. His experience includes academic affairs, student success, enrollment management, financial aid, continuing education, and institutional leadership.
Dr. Booth earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policies and a Master of Education from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of South Carolina.
A recognized leader throughout the Upstate, Dr. Booth has served on numerous regional, statewide, and national boards focused on economic development, education, and workforce advancement. His leadership includes serving as Chair of the Upstate Alliance, Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, Alliance Pickens, Oconee Alliance, Leadership South Carolina, and Community Colleges of Appalachia, as well as service on the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI).
Dr. Booth is a longtime supporter of Upstate Warrior Solution, having previously served as Chair of the UWS Anderson Community Advisory Board. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Inspire Abilities Foundation of Anderson and as a board member of New Covenant School. As a member of the UWS Board of Directors, he brings extensive experience in strategic leadership, workforce development, community partnerships, and a lifelong commitment to helping individuals build brighter futures.
