North Greenville University (7801 N. Tigerville Road, Tigerville, SC 29688) is offering FREE tickets to veterans, currently serving military and their families for the 2019 Military Appreciation Game! Join the celebration and game day fun on Saturday, October 12 at 7 p.m. as NGU honors our military for their service. The Veteran Coffee Meet-up is still happening every second Thursday of each month at Grateful Brew (501 S. Pleasantburg Dr.) from 8-9 a.m. We invite you to join us for the next Veteran Coffee Meet-up next month, October 11. No RSVP will be required. We hope to see you there!

We are pleased to announce Virginia R. Barnes and Marc Shen have accepted part-time and full-time positions, respectively. Virginia is the UWS Family Support Coordinator and Advocate, and Marc Shen is the UWS Fellowship Program Manager. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish!
We have two new VISTAs this year! Catherine Pelicano will be our Development VISTA for the 2019-20 year. Alison Casey will be our Behavioral Health VISTA from Mental Health of Greenville County. We are excited to have them on board!
Spartanburg
A financial planning workshop will be held on Thursday, September 26 from 6-7 p.m. in the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics (160 East St. John St., Spartanburg, SC 29306). The speaker will be Ray Rodriguez, an independent Representative of Primerica, representing Primerica Life Insurance Company (Executive Office, Duluth, GA 30099). Tri-County
Burgess & Taylor General Store will present their jeep and beer event on Saturday, October 12 from 1-8 p.m. There will be event good food, drinks, DJ music, and cornhole games. Sponsors include the City of Pickens, SC – City Hall, and Tony’s Restaurant, McKinney Jeep Ram Chrysler Dodge, and the event will benefit UWS! Stay tuned for more details.
