Creating Stability Through Collaboration

When it comes to providing wrap-around services to Upstate veterans, we understand there is always a need beneath the need. Partnering with everyone and duplicating nothing, our team strives for the highest level of care coordination to holistically serve our warriors.

We are always grateful for our community partners who work collaboratively with us to find meaningful solutions for veterans, as in the case of John T., a Navy veteran who served in the 1980’s.

John was referred to UWS by the Spartanburg Police Department while he was experiencing homelessness. Our team helped John find temporary housing at the Spartanburg Opportunity Center while waiting on approval for housing with Alston Wilkes Society. After a holistic needs assessment, our team connected John with Spartanburg Mental Health for support. We also helped him obtain a copy of his social security card, set up a bank account, get approved for food stamps, and obtain a cell phone.

Thanks to the collaborative work of our partners Spartanburg City Police Department, Alston Wilkes, Spartanburg Opportunity Center, Spartanburg Mental Health, and Synovus Bank, John is headed toward stability. We couldn’t be more honored to work alongside such outstanding partners and positively impact our community together!
