Partner Spotlight: Universal Therapeutic Services, LLC

Partner Spotlight: Universal Therapeutic Services, LLC

Written by Virginia R. Barnes

AmeriCorp VISTA Ali Casey and Family Services Advocate Virginia R. Barnes met with the Owner Tiffany Parker and Intern Sara McAvoy, who is the former intern for Upstate Warrior Solution, to discuss ways UWS Family Services can partner together to best assist our veterans and their families. Universal Therapeutic Services (UTS) is focused on helping our veterans and families heal from grief and trauma.  UTS is about healing the family as a whole or on an individual basis, based on the family’s preference.

Tiffany, Sara, and their team will see a client as young as 2 years old.  If you are interested in family counseling, please click this link to complete their online form. If you have questions, contact Virginia R. Barnes at 631-506-9669.  She is happy to answer any questions for you and/or to complete the initial forms on your behalf.

“Personally, what I like about Universal Therapeutic Services is that their philosophy is to look at each person as a whole person. In addition, they believe in a holistic approach but understand there are times when medication may be required. Each person is unique” – Virginia said.

UTS has a counselor licensed in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). If this is a service you are interested in, please click this link to learn more about EMDR.

UTS offers a wide range of treatment options.  Together, you and your counselor will choose what the best option is for you and your family.

Mental Health is just as important as physical health. There is no shame in seeking Mental Health. In fact, taking that affirmative action is a sign of strength.
